Executive Board

President

Randyn Calvo graduated from Dornsife College (formerly Letters, Arts & Sciences) in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology.  A year later she joined the USC SGV board as a member of the scholarship committee, later co-chairing the committee for two years before becoming the president in August 2010.  She is also the Special Projects Chair for the USC Trojan Junior Auxiliary.




Vice President

L
izzle Singian graduated from USC twice, with a B.A. in International Relations and Psychology in 1999, and a J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law in 2002.  She has her own law practice in Pasadena and also moonlights as a reporter for ESPN Affiliate WeAreSC.com, a sports magazine covering the USC Trojans.  An active member of the Trojan community, she also serves on the USC Law School Publications Advisory Board, and her clients include former Trojan athletes, sports administrators, and personnel.


Treasurer


Steve Miller graduated from what is now the Leventhal School of Accounting in 1975. He has lived in the greater Pasadena area for 25 years where he and his wife Karen have raised two current Trojans. This is Steve's second year on the USC SGV board.



Secretary


Peter Chen g
raduated from USC in 2007 with an emphasis in International Business. He has over three years of experience in risk management and is a fluent speaker in Mandarin.  While at USC he studied abroad in England and China.  Peter has a love of traveling, dining, competitive sports and endurance events.

Membership & Newsletter / Regional Liaisons


Mary Jayne Johnstone is the Chairperson of Membership and is in charge of our Newsletter. Mary Jayne graduated from USC in 2004 with bachelor's degrees in psychology and political science. She is the Student Volunteer Supervisor, in charge of recruiting, interviewing, placing, training and counseling all the high school and college volunteers and interns for Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. 



Doreen Peterson 
has over twelve years of experience as a dedicated educator who is determined to share her passion of learning with her students. She is committed to supporting her community that her three daughters and husband reside in. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, participating in outdoor activities, and attending live music venues.  Recently, Doreen earned a Masters of Arts Degree in Teaching from USC and is proud to be a member of the prestigious “Trojan Family”.




Robert Frier graduated in 
1962 with a Bachelor's in psychology from  the University of Maryland; 1966 Master of Science in Systems Management, USC; 1969 MS in Education, USC.  Bob was on the administrative faculty at USC from 1966-68.  Bob has always enjoyed being of service to others.

John Flynn 
is the Chairperson for the Patrons & Finance Committee.  He graduated from USC with a BA & MFA in Cinema and Broadcast Journalism.  



Michael Kim
 
graduated from USC in 1990 with a BS in Business Administration and his MBA in 2003. As the Chief Marketing Officer for USC Credit Union, he’s proud to be an employee of the university working with staff, faculty, students, and alumni on a daily basis. With a long history in the financial services industry, Mike was formerly the SVP/Director of Product Management at Citibank and held similar positions with KeyBank and Sallie Mae.  He currently lives in Glendale with his wife and two beautiful children.




Scholarship & SCend Off

Alma Dalnay
 is the Chairperson for the SCholarship & SCend Off Committee.  She 
holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California Irvine and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from USC.  She is a Human Resources professional with 11 years of experience in the field.  She values education, which is one of her main reasons for serving as Scholarship and SCend Off Chairperson. Prior to serving as Scholarship Chairperson for USC San Gabriel alumni group, she also held a similar role with Trojan Junior Auxiliary.



Jautonna Jones graduated from Marshall School of Business in 2007 with a B.S. in Business Administration. After graduating USC, Jautonna began working at Progressive Insurance. She is currently a real estate broker for Ridgeview Realty Investments. In her free time Jautonna enjoys traveling, reading and cooking international cuisines.




Philanthropy


Millicent Wanzo is the Chairperson for the Philanthropy Committee.  She graduated from USC in 1986 with a B.S. in Business Administration from Marshall.  She is the Executive Director and founder of Progressive Achievement Center in Rancho Dominguez for special needs students K-12 (ages 5-22).  
 




James Lee graduated from USC in 1993 with a B.S. in Business Administration and Stanford Law School in 1997.  Currently, he is a founding and named partner in the 16 attorney trial and litigation law firm with offices in downtown Los Angeles, Orange County, and Silicon Valley.   He lives in La Canada with his family including his spouse who is an assistant professor at the USC Keck School of Medicine.



Yulanda N. Davis-Quarrie graduated from the Letters of Arts and Science in psychology and is currently the president of Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation.  Davis-Quarrie has over 25 years in the field of fund raising and nonprofit management and also volunteers extensively through her work with the Rotary Club of West Covina,  the Associates of the Pomona Area Chapter of Jack and Jill  and her trade organization, the Association of Fund Raising Professionals. She lives in San Dimas with her her husband,  Donald Quarrie, an SC alum. Their two daughters are also recent graduates of SC.  




Edward Taw 
is a Litigation Consultant at Mesirow Financial, based in Los Angeles. He received his MBA from the Marshall School in 2007. Prior to Marshall, he had a career as a System Engineering at Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin. Edward currently lives in Downtown Los Angeles.




Athletics & Social Events

Michael Lumunsad 
is the Chairperson for the Athletics & Social Events Committee.  He graduated from the Marshall School of Business in 2002, with an emphasis in information systems and entrepreneurship.  He has over 8 years experience in product planning and market research.  Mikey joins the SGV Alumni Club by bringing in a wealth of experience from his leadership roles on the USC Asian Pacific American Alumni Association's Young Alumni Council.  In addition to his role at APAA YAC, Mikey is a mentor in Marshall's Career Advantage Program and Asian Pacific American Student Services Connections! mentor program.



Angelica Urquijo graduated from 
Marshall School of Business with a B.S. in Business Administration. She is a former broadcast journalist. Over the years, she has been actively involved as a member of the advisory boards for community groups dedicated to improving the lives of underserved children and promoting education. She is a member of the Multi-cultural task force for the Los Angeles chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. And recently joined the board for the National Latina  Business Women Association-LA Chapter. While at USC she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority.  In her spare time, Angelica enjoys hiking, salsa dancing, golfing, kayaking, cooking and travels to getaways near and far.



Adam Weiss  Following Adam's undergraduate (2002) and Masters studies (2004) in Urban Planning at the University of Southern California, Adam applied his web programming knowledge to several small clients while working as a real estate broker for Colliers and CBRE. In 2008, Adam decided to focus on web programming full time, and founded Great Matter in 2009. He has been happily managing projects, coding, and pleasing clients ever since.



Rebecca Medina 
MSW, graduated from the School of Social Work in 1998 and received a B.A. in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College. She is the Deputy Director for the Los Angeles County Field Office of Casey Family Programs, the nation’s largest operating foundation focused entirely on foster care and improving the child welfare system. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA Pasadena Foothill Valley and is a former Vice Chair/Commissioner on the Pasadena Commission on the Status of Women.



Business/Professional Events & Outreach

Karen Carr-Crawford is the Chairperson for the Business/Professional Events & Outreach Committee.  She is a marketing and business development consultant who runs her own consulting practice focusing on delivery to small businesses to help them launch, grow and expand..  Karen is a native Southern Californian who earned a Master’s Degree from the School of Policy, Planning, and Development (SPPD –M.P.A.) at U.S.C.  Karen and her husband Carl reside in La Verne, California with their son Daniel - a 2nd year Trojan (Annenberg), dog Sassy, and have been married for 26 years. 

Darrell Brooke is an attorney and name partner with the law firm of Taylor Summers Rhodes Rasmussen Brooke & Torossian LLP, based in Pasadena. He has been a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning Probate & Trust Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 1997. In addition, Mr. Brooke is enjoying his third season as the President of the Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena and is a licensed Zumba instructor.



Joan Bautista 
graduated from Dornsife College (formerly Letters, Arts & Sciences) in 2002 with a B.A. in Psychology.  She is a Director of Institutional Advancement at Southwestern Law School and also runs her own business as a wedding coordinator and event designer.  





University Relations    

Brent A. Noyes graduated from the USC School of Education (now RSOE, or Rossier School of Education) in 1975 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and in 1979 with a M.S. in Teacher Education.  Brent recently retired from his principalships in South Pasadena Unified School District, Las Virgenes Unified School District, La Canada Unified School District, and as an elementary teacher in the Glendale Unified School District.  Brent serves on the USC Board of Governors and the RSOE Board of Councilors.  This is his second year on the Board as University Relations.
